Description

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager, Emergency Management to lead the development of life-critical software solutions designed to enhance school safety and emergency response. This role requires deep expertise in K-12 education technology, emergency management solutions, and the interoperability of critical response systems.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in product management, with experience in mapping technologies, panic button systems, and third-party integrations that support real-time emergency response. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including software development, data science, sales, and customer success—to build and refine solutions that protect lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and manage the strategic roadmap for emergency management solutions, ensuring alignment with market needs, customer pain points, and business objectives.
  • Customer & Market Research: Conduct deep market analysis to understand the evolving needs of K-12 schools and emergency responders. Identify opportunities for product enhancements and new features.
  • Interoperability & Integrations: Drive seamless integration of our emergency management solutions with third-party systems, ensuring interoperability with existing infrastructure, security protocols, and communication tools.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support to guide product development, prioritize features, and drive successful launches.
  • User Experience & Adoption: Focus on optimizing the end-to-end user experience for school administrators, first responders, and emergency personnel to ensure rapid adoption and high satisfaction.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure products adhere to safety, compliance, and regulatory standards related to emergency response systems.
  • Pilot & Beta Testing: Lead pilot programs with school districts and emergency management agencies to validate product effectiveness and gather critical feedback.
  • Sales & Customer Support Enablement: Provide training, documentation, and support for sales teams and customer-facing roles to ensure strong product knowledge and effective communication of value propositions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Business, Emergency Management, or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably with life-critical, emergency response, or safety technology.
  • Expertise in K-12 education technology and school safety challenges.
  • Experience with emergency response solutions, including mapping technologies, panic button systems, and third-party integrations.
  • Strong technical and business acumen, with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, customers, and executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in launching and scaling software products that require real-time data aggregation and analytics.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel 10-20%, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with first responders, emergency management agencies, or public safety organizations.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies for software development.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity and compliance considerations for life-critical applications

 

Normal Working Hours and Conditions:  Core business hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.  However, this position will require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on Company operations. 

Physical Requirements:  Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting including verbally communicating, seeing and hearing to exchange information and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.  Daily physical functions include standing, sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time and occasionally stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting.  The employee may engage in lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds.  The position also requires the operation of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement.
