Introduction

We are looking for an Excel and Power BI Specialist to join our team and leverage their expertise in Microsoft Excel and Power BI to enhance our data management, reporting, and analysis processes.

As a Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of our data-driven operations.


 

Duties & Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include creating and maintaining complex spreadsheets, developing advanced formulas, automating repetitive tasks, and generating insightful reports to support decision-making across various departments.

In this role, you will collaborate with the sales teams to understand their data needs and provide tailored solutions using Excel and Power BI. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to Excel files and Power BI reports, ensuring data integrity, and providing reports.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of Excel and Power BI's advanced features, including pivot tables, macros, and VBA programming.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  •  Proven experience as an Excel Specialist or similar role.
  •  Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, macros, and VBA.
  •  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  •  Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data handling.
  •  Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  •  Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Be in possession of a Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Business Science major (Finance, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field).
  • Should have 2 years of experience with data visualisation tools and techniques (e.g. Excel, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Have experience in data manipulation, management, and data warehousing.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within the tourism or hospitality industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain knowledge of operational changes and external changes that impact revenue.
  • Generating weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on industry price benchmarking.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Addressing ad hoc requests.

Package & Remuneration

Salary Range:

R200 000 – R400 000 per annum, paid weekly. 

This is a contractor role for a company located in the USA and is a fully remote position. 

Funds will be remitted in USD. 

The initial contract is 3 months to evaluate, and will be renewed annually based on performance.
