As the product leader for the Underwriting Data Platform, you will own one of the company's strategic product areas that is critical to the success of the business. You will find novel ways to identify, acquire, store, vend, analyze, and model large diverse datasets. You’ll be responsible for identifying problems and opportunities, collecting feedback from users, defining success criteria, prioritizing features within a roadmap, and working across the company to deliver innovative data and modeling solutions to support our underwriting goals. You will collaborate closely with Actuarial Science, Underwriting, and Research to enhance our risk assessment and pricing methodologies, making our systems and processes both faster and more accurate.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver data-driven solutions that drive underwriting accuracy and efficiency
  • Define metrics and goals guiding the success of the underwriting data platform
  • Develop a long-term product vision and strategy, build a roadmap, and prioritize leveraging data and qualitative feedback
  • Provide technical thought leadership for the team by staying up to date on the latest trends across, data, modeling, and AI
  • Collaborate with actuarial science, underwriting, and research to improve our pricing and decisioning models accuracy and performance, ensuring our offerings are competitive and compliant
  • Partner with engineering, data science, design, and other product managers to define products and services through detailed feature specifications, and execute the roadmap
  • Lead complex internal product launches to drive product adoption and impact, collaborating with cross-functional teams and building business stakeholder relationships

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience building and launching successful data-driven software products, taking them from an idea all the way to customer benefit
  • Demonstrated ability to stay up-to-date on the latest data and AI technologies and incorporating them into your product solutions
  • Expertise building and managing large-scale data and modeling platforms
  • An ownership mentality; the ability to lead independently and do what it takes to deliver great outcomes
  • Ability to articulate complex technical problems to stakeholders from different areas of the business, and drive decision alignment to actionable outcomes
  • Ability to balance being hands-on and sweating the details and looking at the larger picture and driving the strategic vision
  • Experience analyzing and modelling large data sets to derive insights, and inform product decisions and process optimization

Bonus Points

  • Experience building and launching data and modeling platforms
  • Experience with the business of insurance, or related regulated financial products
  • Experience with cybersecurity or internet scan data

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $203,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location.
